Harrison Ford is like one of those sports cars that advertise acceleration from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in three or four seconds. He can go from slightly broody inaction to ferocious reaction in approximately the same time span. And he handles the tight turns and corkscrew twists of a suspense story without losing his balance or leaving skid marks on the film. But maybe the best and most interesting thing about him is that he doesn't look particularly sleek, quick, or powerful; until something or somebody causes him to gun his engine, he projects the seemly aura of the family sedan."
(Richard Schickel, review of Patriot Games in Time magazine)

A car being compared to Harrison Ford in Patriot Games is a great analogy. Both Harrison Ford and a fast car show a fierce attitude with a sense of appropriate aggression at the opportune times. The main thing that makes this comparison dissimilar is the fact that a car is a mechanical machine where as Harrison Ford is a human.

Past, Passions, Purpose Reports

1. Past - Throughout my childhood I grew up in Issaquah Washington in a fairly healthy family. The youngest of four; I was born January 29th, 1991 in Bellevue Washington. My parents decided to name me "James Devlin Bowsher." James coming from the prominent figure in the bible and devlin was my mother's maiden name. I followed in my older siblings footsteps and became very active and involved in sports. I started playing football at a very young age and always had that aggressive mentality that is needed for the sport. From the start I was always a leader both on and off the field. Elected as the team captain several times I learned the basics of leadership and realized I acquired influence in groups of teammates, friends, and peers. I grew up in a Christian house with a Christian family but I didn't personally really know God until about the 8th grade. I accepted Jesus into my life and have been attending the City church ever since. I have made a concious decision in my head to constantly be challenging myself to continue to grow in God and my faith. I combined my passion for football with the desire to fulfill God's will in my life and carried that same influential personality with me to high school. My senior year of high school I tore my ACL the very first play of my second game and ended up rehabilitating it for 5 weeks and continued to play on it torn. Tearing my ACL is undoubtly one of the most significant and life changing events. Missing those 5 weeks caused me to lose my chances of playing at the next level. However our team made it all the way to the state championship for 4A which gave me time to play several more games. Most people would look at it as something negative that happened in my life but I look at it to be something that changed my destiny. I often think about where I would be if I had not torn my ACL and most likely I would not be able to enjoy Northwest University and what God has for me here.

One of my most significant achievements would be being voted most inspirational my senior year in football. This showed me that my teammates respected me and looked to me for leadership. This award made an awsome football year even that much greater.
